Road access by the rom London is by the A127 trunk roads far as Wickford and thence by the B1012 through Latchingdon Mayland and Steeple. The yacht basin itself is admirably sheltered, as it was excavated behind the sea wall and is therefore completely enclosed . The only exception is the entrance channel which was cut through the sea wall. There is no lock and the Marina is accessible at all states of the tide for shallow draft craft.
Bradwell
BRADWELL s a quiet village, and has been a special place from Roman times to today.
With peaceful walks and a smugglers' pub just minutes away, you could not ask for a more relaxing spot. Nearby St. Peters Chapel is said to be the oldest church in Essex.
Welcome to Bradwell Marina, situated in the picturesque Blackwater Estuary. Ideally situated for exploring the river and other east coast estuaries Good access to France, Holland and Belgium and beyond, Bradwell Marina is available at most states of the tide to all but the deepest draft boats. We have over 350 berths with room for 50 visitors. Visiting yachts are welcome and should contact the Marina office before 5pm the day they are planning to arrive. They will then be allocated a suitable berth and told how to find it in the Marina. Bradwell Marina is situated at Bradwell Waterside, on the south shore of the River Blackwater. It is ideally placed for the east coast sailor, with the Blackwater Estuary “on the doorstep” and in easy reach of other Essex Rivers. It is also well placed for cruising to the French, Dutch and Belgium coasts. Deeper draft vessels must excercise caution at low water, especially during spring tides, as the navigable channel in Bradwell Creek becomes shallow. The Marina basin and entrance were excavated to give a minimum depth of 6-8ft at low watersprings. Diesel and super unleaded petrol are available on the fuel pier 7 days a week.We have a Clubhouse with showers and toilets and a separate building with laundry facilities.
